Check out what Surfrider Ventura County was up to this past month!
Port Hueneme Beach Park Dune Restoration - October 3rd

It was pretty warm for our October 3rd Dune Restoration event celebrating Surfrider's Climate Week, but we had 30 people show up, mostly Ventura College students associated with Circle K International. Thanks to our volunteers for their commitment to sustainability. It was a good day to sit in one spot and pull up pesky Bermuda Grass.
Help us restore this critical habitat – we meet in Port Hueneme on the first Saturday of each month at 9 AM. Sign up here!
Respect the Rincon Parkway - October 10

Twelve dedicated volunteers picked up 96 pounds of trash and recycling on Saturday, October 10, despite the high tide conditions.
Please note that high tide conditions are forecast for November and December 2026. RRP cleanups are cancelled for the next two months. Check back in January for sign-ups.
Ormond Beach Cleanups - October 17
We had a low-key Ormond/Hueneme cleanup on Saturday, October 17, but had a good time and got 58 pounds of trash off the beach.
Do your part by joining us at our next Ormond Beach Cleanup!
Ventura Promenade/C St. Cleanups - October 24
Big thanks to everyone who came out Oct. 24 to pick up trash at the C. St. Promenade, including the Beta Gamma Nu Fraternity from CSUCI and Unite Club from Rio Mesa. Every time it rains, trash gets flushed out to the beach - let's keep our beaches clean during this upcoming stormy season! Visit the link in our bio to see all our volunteer opportunities!
Join us at our next C Street Cleanup!
Blue Water Task Force

The mission of Blue Water Task Force is to inform our community about high levels of bacteria that exceed the state standard for safe water entry and could cause waterborne illness.
Our season begins on Thursday, November 5, 2026, and ends on March 26, 2027. We expect our season testing and reporting to be foreshortened this season, however, by predicted high tide events and thermal expansion that is adding 1 to 1.5 ft to our waves. For volunteer safety, we do not sample at wave heights higher than 6 ft. Get water quality results Friday afternoons at 3:00 p.m. at your favorite beaches from north Ventura County to Port Hueneme at:
